Our role: neutral intermediary

Rate My Landlord operates as a neutral intermediary between tenants and property owners. We host first-hand reviews submitted by verified tenants and provide owners with tools to claim properties, respond publicly, and dispute reviews they believe are inaccurate. We do not endorse, edit, or author reviews on behalf of either party.

Reviews represent the personal opinions and experiences of the tenants who submit them. The platform displays a Home Care Rating that aggregates verified data points — it is informational and is not a legal opinion about any property or owner.

Submission certifications

Every tenant review is submitted with a factual-accuracy certification and every ownership claim or dispute is submitted with an owner-authorization certification. Each certification is stored as a timestamped audit record. Submitting false information may result in suspension or removal of the account.

Dispute resolution process

  1. A verified owner files a dispute with a reason, written rebuttal, and optional evidence document.
  2. The review is automatically marked under review and its impact on the Home Care Rating is paused.
  3. An administrator reviews both sides and makes a final decision:
    • Resolved — review stays visible, negative impact reduced by 50%.
    • Dismissed — review is hidden from the public.
    • Rejected — dispute is denied; review is restored to full impact.
  4. Both parties may view the outcome and the timestamped audit trail. Decisions are final on the platform but do not preclude any legal remedies available to either party off-platform.
